Midnight by Jacqueline Wilson

I've just got out Midnight by Jacqueline Wilson and I haven't started reading it yet but I like reading books by Jacqueline Wilson because of the layout and I find it's really easy to read and from the blurb its sounds really good :- from the blurb, Violet has always been in the shadow of her mesmerizing controlling brother Will - by turns delightful and terrifying. But now Will has learned a shocking secret about his own past, and things seem to be getting worse . Violet retreats into fantasies based on the fairy characters created by her absolute favorite author, Casper Dream

The arrival of Jasmine a new girl at the school who immediately befriends Violet, seems like it might change Violet's life for the better. Will Jasmine help her break free of Will's spell?

Well I've got up to Chapter 3 and basically she get's left home with her brother Will and she looks back at childhood memories at what they used to do when they were both little.

War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

I've began to read War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, and I've heard that the film is really sad, and it's set in World War One.England, 1914. As World War 1 begins, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes Joey on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in No Man’s Land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find Joey and bring him home.
Filled with stirring music and some of the most innovative stagecraft of our time, War Horse is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship, and an unforgettable theatrical experience. At the heart of the show are life-sized puppets which bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.I've seen a few of the sequels like Private Peaceful
